Registration Information

Ask a Question

How do I register myself or a group to stay at Bridgestone?

After reading the information on this page, click on the Calendar at the top left of the page and check the dates to ensure we will have room. The maximum capacity is about 220 in buildings ...  But, even if you are uncertain about the numbers ... call us at 228.493.1272 or send us an e-mail and we can talk about your trip.

What does it cost to stay at Bridgestone?

Pathfinder does not have a fixed per person per diem charge. Instead, we ask that each group make a contribution to the camp to help defray those expenses. We incur expenses associated with maintaining the camp facilities and equipment ( for example; supplies, fixing and buying tools and equipment) and paying for the utilities we use. (For example, the cabins are air conditioned and the stoves use propane gas.)

We leave the amount of the contribution to the discretion of the group leadership and the leading of the Holy Spirit.  Many groups are unsure of the amount so we suggest a donation of at least $5.00 to $10.00 /person per day.

If you intend to make a contribution with a check, make the check payable to Bridges of Faith and attach a note indicating the purpose of the contribution.

What information do I need to provide before I arrive?

To minimize the time required to in-process at the Camp, we suggest you complete the forms, provided in PDF format below, prior to your arrival.

You must have the following forms completed when you arrive:

Waiver of Liability

Medical Consent

This will expedite in-processing when you arrive.  It works best if your Team Leader collects all of the forms and gives them to camp staff on arrival.  We MUST have this information before you can work in any capacity.

Who Can Come:  Due to the nature of work and the dangers associated with a construction area, we have restricted the age of minor volunteers to 14 years and older.  (If you wish to bring younger children, please call us.)  Adults with physical limitations or respiratory problems should contact us before coming to Bridgestone to ensure we have work opportunities consistent with their limitations.

Personal Items to Bring: Each person needs to bring with them:

  • Sleeping bag or bed linens

  • Pillow

  • Towels

  • Personal care items

  • Work shoes & socks

  • Flashlight

Immunizations:  There are health risks and dangers that you must plan for.  The most common accident is stepping on nails.

  • Tetanus (good for 5 years)

 Medical Aid:

In the unlikely event you need emergency medical aid, the local hospital has an emergency room 24x7.  911 emergency services are also available.

Housing Arrangements

There are 22 cabins that sleep 10 adults each.  Men and women sleep in separate cabins.

Because of the limited space in the cabins, we ask that you limit personal items.

Workers are responsible for cleaning the cabins prior to leaving so that it is ready for the next group.

Water

During the hot months (April through October) you should drink 5 to 6 bottles of water per day at minimum.  Bottled water can be purchased locally.  We keep a basic supply of cold water on hand and ask that the teams replenish the water they drink.

Meal Arrangements

Typically we have volunteers from several different churches working out of the camp at any given time. Since all the volunteers eat the same meal at the same time, we ask groups to bring food and cooks/kitchen help.  The meals are served pot luck style since everyone eats together.

What food should you bring?

For the purpose of meal planning and purchasing food prior to coming to the camp each group should plan to prepare meals for your group plus 4. Your food along with that prepared by the other cooks will be served to everyone at the camp.

You can purchase your food locally.

Groups larger than 5 should plan to bring a cook with them or eat out.  If you have specific questions about the meal arrangements please email or call us.

Shared Responsibilities

Given the environment that we are working in maintaining a hygienic camp is a top priority. To be successful we need everyone’s cooperation.

   Bathroom and Shower Facilities

Each cabins has two toilets and two showers with hot water.  Please clean before leaving.

   Trash

Workers in camps like ours can generate considerable trash and refuse. Trash cans are emptied every morning. We ask each group to pick up the trash in their sleeping quarters and help the staff by carrying the full trash bags from the dining hall to the dumpster. Please break down cardboard boxes and take them to the dumpster, too.

Types of skills we need:

Cooks (Each group larger than 5 people needs to bring a cook)

General Support:

  • Cut Grass

  • Clear trees

  • Camp clean-up

Construction:

  • Electricians

  • Sheetrock Installers & Finishers
  • Carpenters
  • Flooring Installers
  • Roofers
