Ministry in Mississippi


 

 

 

Pathfinder Mission's roots are in Waveland, Mississippi.  For 5 years we ministered to the people of Waveland and Hancock County.  We gutted homes and rebuilt them, built new homes, and built sheds to store personal property while families lived in FEMA trailers.

Thousands of volunteers came to Pathfinder Mission to serve the people of Mississippi. Very often it was the volunteers who were most impacted by the service.  They experienced Matthew 25 - serving the least of these, James 1:27 - visiting the widows and orphans in their affliction, and John 15:13 - laying down their lives for others.  They found new meaning in Jesus words " pick up your cross and follow Me..."

While in Mississippi we partnered with other para church ministries and local churches in Waveland.  We had opportunity to share the Gospel, disciple believers, and reach out to those struggling with hurts, habits and hangups.  It was a 'Kairos' moment .. God ordained and Spirit led.  We saw what was impossible for man to accomplish ...accomplished by the One who can do exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask or imagine.

In the Spring of 2010 we were called from serving in Mississippi to focus our ministry on Haiti.  So one chapter has closed and the Lord has begun to write another.
