Pathfinder Vision

Birthed in August 2005 from a ministry of Gateway Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL in response to the need for help after Hurricane Katrina , Pathfinder Mission was incorporated in Mississippi as a non-profit ministry in May 2007 and in August 2007 was subsequently granted status as a  501(c)(3) charity by the IRS.

As a non-denominational ministry, Pathfinder's mission is to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of those we encounter.  Matthew 25, giving aid and comfort to the 'least of these', and James 1:27 'visiting the orphans in their affliction'  are the scriptures that guide the focus and efforts of the ministry.

Pathfinder provides missions opportunities for the Body of Christ to leave the pew and put her hand to the plow.  It's a God-ordained "kairos" moment.  Like at the pool of Bethesda, the church must move while the Holy Spirit is stirring the waters. God has been and continues to be amazing as He proves His presence and shows His might in the midst of great loss and devastation.  Through the work of the Church He reminds us that He is the Sustainer and Provider. He is a "just in time" God.

Charley and Martie Elgin lead the ministry at Pathfinder Mission.  As missionaries, they served in Mississippi from September 2005 until May 2010.  With most of the construction completed on the Gulf Coast, in June 2010 they moved Pathfinder Mission operations to launch a new phase of ministry in Haiti.
