Greetings; You know, God is good all of the time. He is able and willing to do more than we can ask or think. Our prayer is that you are trusting Him today more than you have ever trusted Him … He is trustworthy isn't He? I thought it would be good to start this update by reminding us all of the nature of the God that has called us to service. As I type this I am reminded of so many who will read these words that have shown their hearts and faith through their sacrificial service to the people on the gulf coast. Thank you! As you know, God has been stirring our hearts in preparation for us taking another step of faith. Well, the time has come for Martie and me to take that next step. We will leave the Shoreline volunteer camp for the next place of service within the next two weeks. We have been so blessed here. The volunteers we have worked with and the people we have served have been wonderful. God has taught us so much over the past months. Our hearts have been broken and encouraged at the same time. The need is so great, but God has brought such an increase through the faithfulness of volunteers and ministries that have supported this camp. By the time we leave, we will have hosted over a thousand volunteers. We are leaving, but the camp and its reason for being will continue. We encourage you to continue to support the relief efforts hosted by Shoreline Park Baptist Church. Please contact Pastor Ed Murphy or Karen, his wife, to coordinate trips or support to the camp. E-mail address is: karedw1@wmconnect.com Office phone number is: 228-467-9461 Address: 10121 Kiln Waveland Cutoff Road, Bay St. Louis, MS 39520 We are closing on our house this next week. PTL. We have so much to do since we are not buying a house. Clothes, furniture, possessions, ugh! The next few weeks will be interesting. We are meeting with some folks in the next few days to discuss an initial location for our camper and the mission. Please pray that the Lord will guide us in that decision. Leaving this camp is difficult for us. We love the people we serve with and the people we serve. It's difficult but necessary. God is taking us deeper in our walk with Him. He shows us where we are still dependent upon the strength of our flesh and teaches us to rest in Him and not ourselves. We are building a web site that should be fully functional in a few days. http://www.pathfindermission.org Also, please continue to pray that God will meet our financial needs in the days ahead. A good friend responded to my last update saying - While reading this, we were waiting with bated breath for the next chapter/location/mission -- but guess that'll have to wait? I re-read my last e-mail and see that I didn't provide the "rest of the story". I have met with the leadership of a small Missionary Baptist Church in Waveland. They have agreed to allow me to establish a camp on their property which is adjacent to property owned by CSX railway. I am talking with CSX to secure (buy - lease) that property. The POC with CSX is a believer and I was able to share what God is doing down here. I am confident that God will continue to provide. The Lord has had us in a crucible for the past several months .. teaching and shaping us for the next step. We will continue to help people with their homes, teach them to fish (help themselves), continue the POD building, initiate an intentional evangelistic outreach, and reach out to the volunteers and contractors through discipling and praise and worship opportunities. We intend to use volunteers to accomplish all facets of the ministry. I will post a presentation in PDF format that we used to communicate this vision to our church leadership on the new web site (see URL below), today. We covet your prayers as we move ahead. Thank you Blessings Charley Charley & Martie Elgin Pathfinder Mission Waveland, Mississippi http://www.pathfindermission.org (228) 493-1081 Isa 58:12 …. you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in.
