Well, here we are once again in Bay St. Louis. Our respite has passed. It was good to be with those who are co-laboring with us once again. It's odd, but now it's our home in Montgomery that seems like the place we are visiting. The Elgins. Martie's visits with the doctors went well. PTL. She must go back in about 2 weeks for another injection and some follow up from these visits. Please continue to lift her up before the Lord. God continues to show himself faithful ... we are not surprised ... just amazed that He is letting us join Him in this great adventure! Martie and I are looking for ways that we can decrease financial obligations to a very minimum. We are selling our Honda Civic since it is the only car we owe money on. We are also considering whether or not to sell our home. Please be in prayer about that with us, we need wisdom. Frankly we are struggling with asking folks to help us financially to pay for something that we don't live in, at least not now. As you might suspect from that statement, we are thinking that we will be here or at least somewhere like "here" for an extended period of time. While in Montgomery, we saw the "End of the Spear". God really stirred our hearts as we reflected on the way those missionaries lived their lives. To live is Christ and to die is gain! They modeled the "gift of faith". Pursuing the vision that God had given them with a passion that made even the thought of death a trivial thing in light of the hope that was in them. God used their faithfulness and their very lives to tenderize the hearts of the Waodani people. The Camp. The camp survived our absence. This week we have a ton of volunteers. We will peak at about 108 one day this month ... fortunately they are not all staying the night. Those extra showers are really coming in handy! We are going to have a number of youth groups during March and April so we are looking at how we can accommodate them and keep our focus on the mission at hand. We got our latest sign in -- Joseph -- for the kitchen this week. Many thanks goes to Barb Plattner who has been so kind to paint them all for us. One of the many "silent" servants who help make this camp a blessing for those who come to serve. The Church. The church is close to getting the HVAC installed -- in the next couple of weeks is my understanding. That will make even more space available for volunteers when needed. The Community. The need is still great. Each day brings new faces to our doorway. The work is slowly shifting from destruction to construction. We need materials and skilled laborers. Keeping everyone busy is a challenge some days. Fortunately we have some semi-permanent volunteers who help us get -r- done. The Pods. And I was doing so well with my alliteration -- but ran out of words that start with "C" :o) We are close to 140 delivered. A group from West End Baptist in Clanton, AL brought 12 pre-fab kits they had built with them. Is that cool or what?! Perhaps other churches will catch the vision and do the same. We have reduced the cost of the pods to around $230.00 per unit which is a reduction of the total cost of 500 pods by about $35,000.00 That would build over 150 more pods! This weekend we sent teams out to visit with folks as a follow up who have had pods delivered . Martie and I would like to thank you again for your partnership with this ministry and mission. Please continue to pray for us that God will continue to meet our physical, spiritual and financial needs. Charley
